This exciting opportunity is ideal for a current student who possesses the desire for experience and exposure to the environmental consulting industry and an opportunity for future employment. This role will develop your technical skills relating to site closure, minor reclamation, vegetation control, and environmental assessment within the energy sector of Western Canada. Continued employment during post-secondary education terms and post-graduation is the goal of this position!

As a Vegetation Management Technician (VMT), your role is primarily involved with completing integrated vegetation management on reclaimed and active sites. Documenting pertinent information pertaining to the Site, including recommendations is paramount to the success of this role. As a VMT, experience will be gained by working with other experienced team members, Environmental Technicians, and Environmental Consultants. Exposure to many land uses and areas within Western Canada is an exciting way to spend your summer! Utilizing trucks and walking, helicopters, ATV, ARGOs, and UTVs to gain access to Sites sounds exciting!

This position is an excellent opportunity to  be introduced and gain experience with Choice and the environmental industry. We utilize the VMT (and ET) role as an opportunity to work with new graduates and students to determine if there is a fit for long term employment. Many of our staff today began as VMTs, moved into an Environmental Technician role, and are now full time Environmental Consultants.
